10 Most Expensive Yachts In The World

10 Most Expensive Yachts In The World

For every sailing enthusiast, nothing can compare to the feeling of cruising the waters with your very own private yacht. While most people can only fantasize about possessing such a wonderful vessel, there are a few who have already managed to realize such dream.
For some its not just about owning a yacht, but its also about owning one of the most expensive yachts in the world. Want to find out more about how much each of these can cost? Read on.
1. History Supreme

The identity of the owner of History Supreme isn’t exactly clear. The word is out, however, that a Malaysian businessman owns it. Some say that it might be Robert Kuok, while others aren’t certain. One thing’s for sure, though. This $4.8 billion-yacht is the world’s most expensive yacht.
Also called the Baia 100 Supreme, this lavishly designed vessel makes use of just under 100,000 kilograms of platinum and gold as well as tiny meteorites and dinosaur bones as embellishments. Clearly, no expense has been spared to ensure that the History Supreme surpasses all other yachts, not only in function, but also in form. What an experience it must be to be aboard this magnificent craft.
2. Eclipse
Eclipse

Roman Abramovich’s Eclipse, costing approximately $1.2 billion, is the second most expensive boat in the world. Apart from its sleek 560-foot body, this luxury yacht also features a defense technology that would make any other vessel’s system blush in shame. There’s a missile detection device, an anti-intruder alert, an anti-bugging system, and on top of it all, an anti-paparazzi system that thwarts any stranger’s effort to take pictures.
Of course, this last one is understandably a necessity for the famous Chelsea football club owner and Russian billionaire. Lucky guests will also get to enjoy the aquarium on board, the mini submarine, the two helicopters, and the two swimming pools, one of which could be drained and converted to a dance floor. With its enormous size, the Eclipse requires at least 70 crew members to run and maintain the vessel.
3. Streets of Monaco

Designed by England’s Yacht Island Design, the Streets of Monaco super-yacht is expected to give all the other vessels on this list a run for their money when it comes to sheer audacity. This ship features scaled-down reproductions of all the things you’ll enjoy about the city. There’s a go-karttrack on the ship’s deck that looks and feels almost exactly like the Monaco Grand Prix.
There are also reproductions of the Loews Hotel, the Hotel de Paris, Monte Carlo Casino, La Rascasse, and Café de Paris. Other attractions that can be enjoyed in this $1.1 billion- and 500-foot yacht include the following: tennis courts, swimming pools, a café bar with underwater views, a mini waterfall, a penthouse-sized apartment for the owner, and luxurious suites for the guests. Whoever gets to purchase the Streets of Monaco is one lucky billionaire.
4. Dubai

Also known as Platinum 525, this $350-million vessel is owned by the reigning Sheikh of Dubai, which is a part of the United Arab Emirates. Originally commissioned for Brunei Prince Jefri Bolkiah in 1996, the ship wasn’t completed until Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum swooped in and provided the necessary funding to finish the project.
Then called the Golden Star, one of the world’s most expensive yachts became known as Dubai, after the owner’s place of residence. The long list of luxurious amenities on this 525-foot craft include a swimming pool, spa, helipad, a glass staircase, and everything you can ever need and want day in and day out. Think of it as a major city, but one that floats on water.
5. Superyacht A

Built by Philippe Starck, the Superyacht A has a jaw-dropping price tag of $323 million. It is capable of housing 14 guests and is manned and maintained by a crew of 42 people. It made its maiden voyage in the year 2008 and underwent repairs and further work thereafter. It was finally completed to satisfaction in the year 2009 and was delivered to its owner – Russian billionaire Andrei Melnichenko.
So what makes this 120-meter-long monster vessel so remarkable? Well, aside from a fully finished interior, the Superyacht also has an exterior that can only be described as a sleek and futuristic ice berg breaker.
6. Al Said
Al Said

At the time of its construction, Al Said was called project Sunflower. With an eye-popping value of $300 million, this vessel truly belongs in this list of the most expensive boats in the world. It has an aluminum superstructure, can welcome and comfortably house 70 guests, and is run by a crew of 154 people.
Perhaps the most exciting feature about this yacht is a concert hall that is said to be big enough to host a 50-piece orchestra. However, further descriptions and details can’t be reported without even a single photo of the interior of this amazing watercraft. If you really want to know for sure, then you might as well ask Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, the owner.
7. Dilbar
Dilbar yacht

Russian businessmen seem to have a penchant (and the wealth) for luxury yachts, and Alisher Usmanov is definitely one of them. Owned by Usmanov and named after his mom, Dilbar has all the trappings expected of a vessel that costs $263 million. There’s a crew of 47, a helipad, lavish accommodations for 20 guests, and more. The ship’s owner usually uses the Dilbar to visit his private isles. What a great life his must be.
8. Al Mirqab

Owned by Qatar Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, the Al Mirqab is valued at $250 million. Apart from the 10 suites ready to welcome 24 guests, there are also lots of other amenities that make this yacht the vessel of your dreams. For starters, there is a cinema on board, a sunbathing space, swimming pool, helipad, two VIP rooms, and loads of other amazing features. Of course, with the quarter of a billion it took to build this beauty, the Al Mirqab deserves to be counted among the most expensive yachts to ever sail the seas.
9. Lady Moura
Lady Moura yacht

Bearing the price tag of $210 million, the Lady Moura is surely one expensive boat. The ship’s embellishments, including its escutcheon and name, make use of 24 karat gold. Apart from the amazing interior design, what makes the Lady Moura such an impressive vessel is its very own private resort, which slides out of the boat’s side. Not only does the mini resort boast deck chairs and sand, but it also has a number of palm trees to complete the scenery. So who’s the owner of this costly private yacht? The answer is Nasser Al-Rashid, a multi-billionaire from Saudi.
10. The Rising Sun

Previously under the possession of Oracle’s Larry Ellison, the Rising Sun is now owned by David Geffen, an American media magnate. With a length of 453 feet, this $200-million ship has plenty of amenities to offer. There is a movie theater, a basketball court/helicopter pad, a wine cellar, and countless others. As such, the Rising Sun can be rightly described as a magnificent mansion floating on water.
